due to the overwhelming demand for a new post, here's it.
(:
i know, i'm nice.
and yuanzhi! i dont smell like i'm rotting.
so anyways, i was asked to tell yuanzhi about pro-life. like, my views and stuff.
(his assignment for IS module)
in case you guys dont know, pro-life here means
"NO ABORTION!!!"
for me, i strongly believe in pro-life. no matter how bad the situation may be, this "thing" that you carry, has a life.. this "thing" has the ability to breathe, to cry, to breathe, to love. it will be almost like you, the "creator" of this "thing"..
if scientist call a single-celled organism as a living thing, what more this foetus residing in you? it is a cell too. so why would you take another living thing's life?
it's also the same way you wouldnt "just kill" another human being.. you dont have the rights to do that. that's why murder is wrong. "removing" the "thing" in your stomach is tantamount to murder. to killing. even murderers have a last say in their predicament, to defend himself no matter how bad he was. and the one in you. can it speak for itself?
i know, i'm not in a situation to talk about how we should keep the baby especially if the baby was a result of rape.. i definitely do not want to be in such a situation because i dont know what i would do.. i know, you'd probably say i'm such a hyprocrite, saying this and yet, i dont know if i can actually do it. (not that i want to find out)
it's just the fact that this life that is in you, was kind of given to you, whether you like it or not.. even worse if the life came about if you decided to have sex with random people because all you wanted was "pleasure". that would be the consequence of your actions..
i think the way the media portrays both the good and the bad.

(the good)
some shows portray how some people who have realised that they are pregnant, when they actually decide to go ahead with an abortion, come to realise that this life that they are carrying, is actually so precious because the scene at the clinic shows how a couple comes out of the room, with the female crying, asking her husband why she cant have a baby, that she has been waiting for years but they just cant get pregnant. that would be the most common scene. the next one would be one of the person, going to a park, and realising how much fun the parents are having with their kids.. you know, the usual..
(the bad)
then there's the part where it promotes "social sex"
"go on, jump into bed with him. go on, play.. go on, enjoy yourself. it's okay"
you know.. those kind of things. you get what i mean.

so what is the world trying to do? there are reasons to be pro-life, then there are the reasons to pro-choice. which is "it's okay to abort"
what will be your stand? will you be able to stick to your choice if something happens to you, or will you change your mind?
will i be able to stand my ground? i dont know. and i hope, i wont find out.

but then again, really, life is God-given.. who are you, to decide who should live or die?
