june is almost over, ergo, my work in the before & after school care is over.
in the entire process of being around kids, i've found God.
i've found God's forgiveness and grace and love.
you know how as we grow up, we tend to be more selfish? when we get something, we dont share it with everyone around us; but instead we pick and choose. yet while working, i realised something, no matter how well they know each other, the kids always tell the people around them about something good. the something, referring to chips/snacks/chocolates in particular. i found that very heartwarming, knowing that God has manifested Himself in this way, revealing Himself this way.
then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said,
"assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little
children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
matthew 18:2-3
it brings a whole new meaning to the verse doesnt it?
i am amazed at the way their speed of forgiveness too. one minute you're scolding them for something they did wrong and the next thing, they're calling you, asking for help and smiling at you.
the innocence of which they possess amazes me, for i now wonder where did we go wrong growing up? what made us the way we are, from the innocent little ones that we used to be.
anyways, its going to be a good month ahead i hope!
i had a couple of good days before this and i hope it continues for a while. i havent smiled so much in a long time.
(:
i had a last minute supper date with edmund at the thomson roti prata stall after dinner with mum. he was nice to drive me from my house and back home though i had to keep talking to make sure he didnt fall asleep behind the wheel! now that got my palms quite wet. haha!!!
then it was a belated dinner date with justin at serangoon gardens. he went on and on, torturing me with very detailed information about his brunei officer training, beheading poor little quails for survival and chopping down plants to make shelter. haha! it was so much fun hanging out with him and all.
i realised he hasnt changed much since secondary school days too. still that silent laughter and yeah his smile.
(:
and yesterday, just before dinner with mum and shawn, i met edmund at bishan. haha!!! what a coincidence isnt it. he was actually on his way home.
so yeah, that's pretty much a sum up of what i've been doing other than working at church.
tomorrow's a long day too, with a gathering at west coast then a function at church.
alrights then! i'll take my leave first and try blogging more soon!
(:
